Hey my name is Jianfei, and i live in Singapore. This blog is for people who dance, people like me,
people who are, like in step up 3d, "Born From A Boom-box". I'm just a guy who has passion
for dance and would like to share this passion. Now, a little bit of myself...
I started dancing when i was 13, the time when Michael Jackson died, well you could say he is
my biggest inspiration. Well i first started dancing because dance moves looked cool and i was
bored so i started searching for videos on youtube and learning while i watched. As i watched
more of MJ videos, i found out more about dance, dance moves, dance music, the genres
and stuff. So i started to learn popping, i have videos of myself dancing put on youtube so that
i can receive comments from people around the globe and to improve my dance moves, but up
till now, there hasn't been much views=9
So after i have learnt almost all the basics of popping
and was well into freestyling, i started to find out more about other dance moves e.g. hip hop
styles, like locking, tutting, shuffling etc. Even now, i have started to pick up breakdancing.
I had the chance to be exposed to a different genre of dance in a school post-exam activity.
My school invited some dance instructors from StudioWu to come and teach the students some
basics of jazz and a simple dance choreography. i was most interested in doing the pirouette
as i thought it was pretty amazing how someone spins on one leg for so long. I had also recently
learnt the Michael Jackson spinning-on-the-heel move so i thought that it would be really cool
if i knew how to spin in two different ways.
Thats about my dance journey...some people think that dance is a way to expressing their
feelings, when i started out on dancing, i wasn't concerned about expressing anything, it was
just sort of a way to just show off to people. But as i sort of mature and go deeper into the world
of dance, i realized that dance really affected my life a lot. When i'm down, dance lightens my
mood.
I would like to end off this post with some dance music, a dope dance song...
